
Midget LL Huskies Finish 2009 with 2 Wins & 1 Loss
The Home Hardware Midget LL Huskies recently played their last three games of 2009 and got two wins and a loss.
First the Huskies travelled to Ayton to play the Normanby Wildcats on Dec. 13.
After a scoreless first period, the Wildcats began the scoring in the second period to take a 1-0 lead over the Huskies.
Then with less than four minutes left in the third period, Seth DeBoer managed to score two goals, with assists by Ben Dow, Hunter Burgess and Luke Ronka, to give the Huskies the 2-1 win.
Next the Huskies travelled to Paisley, on Dec. 14, to face the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs. Unfortunately, after a tough game, the Huskies were defeated 5-3 with goals going to Ronka, DeBoer and Travis Marshall and assists by Nathan Thompson, Ronka, Cole Hollands, DeBoer and Chris Giles.
The Huskies last game of 2009 was a home game against the Walkerton Capitals 2 on Dec. 21.
The Huskies began the scoring in the first period when DeBoer got a goal, assisted by Hollands and Brandon Stevens. Then just near the end of the period, the Capitals tied up the game.
In the second period Jason Paylor scored, assisted by Nate McGuigan, to not only break the tie, but also to give the Huskies the 2-1 win over the Capitals, as neither team managed to score in the third period! Way to go Huskies and Happy New Year to everyone!
