I am happy to report that it was another awesome week for the Midget LL Huskies, as they won four more playoff games in a row.
The Huskies first game of the week was in Mildmay, against the Monarchs, on Mar. 2, and they finally managed to defeat them in a very close game. In the first period, the only goal was scored by Kyle Green, unassisted. In the second period, Green scored two more goals for a hat trick, one unassisted and the other assisted by Curtis Caswell and Matt Surridge, on a power play. In the third period, the Monarchs managed to tie up the game, but with 14 seconds left in the period, Green scored the game winner unassisted, to give the Huskies the 4-3 win.
The next game was a home game against the Wiarton Wild, on Mar. 3. The Huskies defeated the Wild 5-3 in the end. The goal scorers were Green with a hat trick and Caswell with two. Assists went to Ken Campbell, Green, Luke Ronka, Nathan Thompson, and Chris Giles.
After this, the Huskies faced the Hanover Falcons, at home, on Mar. 5, and defeated them in another close game. The first period remained scoreless, but in the second period, Green began the scoring, assisted by Caswell and Nathan McGuigan. Campbell scored next, assisted by Brandon Stevens and Thompson, giving the Huskies a 2-0 lead. Then, just at the end of the period, the Falcons got their first of the game. In the third period, Caswell got another for the Huskies, assisted by Green and Thompson, to maintain their lead. The Falcons managed to score one more after this to make the final score 3-2 for the Huskies.
Finally, the Huskies travelled to Hanover to face the Falcons for the second time this week, and the Huskies achieved a close 1-0 win, giving goalie Justin Paylor a shutout. The lone goal was scored by Green and assisted by Dylan Cremona and Campbell. Great work team!
