Challenging Week for Midget LL Huskies
The Midget LL Huskies have had a tough week despite their best efforts. They began this past week with a win, but were defeated in the two games that followed.
First, the Huskies went to Hanover to face the Hanover Falcons, on Jan. 17, and defeated them in a close game.
In the first period, Nathan Thompson started the scoring for the Huskies, unassisted. Then in the second period, the Falcons tied up the game, but this only lasted a couple of minutes before Kyle Green scored, assisted by Nathan McGuigan and Curtis Caswell, giving the Huskies the lead again.
In the third period, Caswell scored for the Huskies, assisted by Green and McGuigan, followed by another goal by Green assisted by Luke Ronka, giving them a 4-1 lead. Then the Falcons scored two more goals to try to catch up. Shortly after this, Green scored another goal, for a hat trick, assisted by Caswell. The Falcons came back with one more goal in the end, but they couldn't get anymore past goalie Justin Paylor and the Huskies got the 5-4 win. The three stars of this game were Green, Caswell, and Thompson.
